MegaBomb variant
« on: June 03, 2013, 05:57:26 pm »
Hello, old friend:

There's a small chance levels spawn with a whopping great bomb in the middle of them. Bombs can take LOADS of damage, but they get caught in the crossfire.

When the bomb explodes, it leaks radiation everywhere. From then on, monkeys health is slowly drained for the rest of the bout.

I like the idea of He-man/ Skeletor team-ups going on, where people agree not to shoot near the bomb in case it goes off. We'll see :)

It's just a nice little extra variant to the gameplay, like jetpacks or low grav. The game really does feel like you don't know what you're going to get next, which is ace.

And I think we all remember what happened to that team-up...

Like the bomb idea, it's similar to the City City Bang Bang hook from Gibbage. Hopefully the bomb will go off a little easier than those reactors, which iirc barely ever got to explode!

Ah, I didn't realise those did explode...

Maybe the bomb could deliver some initial damage i.e. a huge explosion. Then the radiation carries on for the rest of the game. Could be quite fun then and make for a spectacular victory if you blow it up right when the other player is very low on power...

Just so everyone's clear, I've changed this. The damned thing is a fucking liability, because it's funnier that way.

I like the idea of starting a match and seeing a bomb and just think "fuck". In a good way though.

Yeah, it's the distrust between players I like the idea of most :D

Is the rate of health decline constant? It feels to me as if sometimes I last for ages, sometimes barely at all. Am I imagining it, or are there factors involved that change the rate?

What's the chance of getting MegaBomb area anyway? In 100+ matches i got it only once.

I can't remember off the top of my head. It think it's about 1 in 20, but you have to have played 20-or-so for it to even be in the mix.
