Christ, I'm hoping that's your computer's fault too. What OS are you running? GFX card drivers all up to date, etc?

My computer is a Toshiba Satellite A215- here are the stats:

1.9 GHz AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58 processor, 200 GB hard drive, 2 GB RAM

I have 128 MB of graphics card RAM, is that enough? I fear it is not...

Here's an interesting one you might not like, unless you pass it off as an advanced challenge level:

Then even more fun at the end:

But, silver lining, your error message works fine:

It's the only time I've seen it so far in about 15 online games, 10 local, and 4 runs of the tutorial. Happened when selecting a rematch if that helps? If you need any specs or anything else let me know.

Game has been patched. Please completely quit Steam and log in again. Make sure you're running 0.97c

Someone challenged me while I was looking at a steam chat to organise a match.

I got a challenge failed screen. Then on accepting the next challenge, I got the same screen, but without the challenge failed message.

On hitting escape to return to the main menu, the UI had disappeared from the main menu screen.

This meant I could not quit the game and had to force the process closed through the Windows task manager.

Just tried to enter my first online match after getting challenged in one of the servers and got stuck on the loading screen like others have mentioned earlier in the thread for a good few minutes before I had to forfeit.

For what it's worth, running v0.97c and this machine is running vista (I know, I know.)

Edit: I can reproduce the issue (I think) in local mode by going for a rematch. The initial game works every time, but as soon as I hit rematch I get stuck on the vortex initializing screen until I cancel out.

Edit 2: Closing and reopening the game completely has fixed the rematch issue, I can rematch however many times I want now without it breaking. I'll play around to see if I can reproduce to see what caused it to get stuck that session.

Final edit for now: Can't reproduce the issue, can rematch continuously now - I'm guessing whatever it was broke the online match was interfering with rematches even in local mode for that session.I notice however that my local region defaults to [] and I can't choose EU without first choosing a different region first, every time I play a game then return to the server list. It wasn't like this before I ran into the loading screen issue earlier.

Day two! build 0.97e and I've had no issues. I couldn't play online at all yesterday, not sure what changed - can't see any networking changes and nothing's changed my end but I've played online without issue for a while now, including several rematches.

On playing a third match against a player (second rematch), I was left with the "waiting for players" overlay on top of the game. I could see my opponent bouncing around and collecting his power cubes but I could not move, as my game thought I was still waiting for them.

This forced me to return the lobby.

Just to confirm, I've just had this bug happen again under the exact same conditions.

So, to help you debug this problem follow these instructions.

Steps to reproduce the bug:

1.) Challenge a player.
2.) Win the match.
3.) Press 'Rematch'.
4.) Win again.
5.) Press 'Rematch'.

From this point on, you can see the other player still playing the level like they have not been told that they lost, while you still have the "Wait for players / return to lobby" UI overlayed on your screen. And no way to get rid of it without leaving the match.

After accepting a challenge where the other player has obviously gone, the challenge wait timer counts past the [/15] seconds time-out mark.

When it hits about 30 seconds the counter disappears and leaves you on that screen.

Hitting escape returns you to the main menu, but the menu overlay has disappeared (the one with Log-Out, My Team, Play game, etc...) so you have to quit the game via windows task manager.

Had the same bug:

I could deactivate an active perk but nothing else. music is running

other thing:

I think I saw someone other posting it, too:
the loading screen of the rematch is getting blue; really low fps
i think this comes only when the other player left the rematch window and  "waiting for other player to join" should show

Playing with a US based player ("Smash_and_Crash"). We only managed to get in game together after we both joined the US lobby.

But we keep getting disconnected mid game.

They get a ping of 125 to the app-eu.exitgamescloud.com server. But that may spike up during play.

Possibly the ping-kick threshold needs to be increased/made a bit more lenient.

EDIT: I get a ping of 101ms to the app-us.exitgamescloud.com domain in America.
