This is a thread to get all excited about the Syndicate Remake and hope it's basically like the Xcom one but with Syndicate

Another Netflix Original. It's Eli Roth, it's weird as fuck and it has the best werewolf transition I've ever fucking seen. HARROWING.

About 4 eps in. It's a bit heavy on the questions-with-no-answers but some brillo characters and setups. Anyone else watching?

General Discussion / Ebuyer

So, the graphics card I bought is faulty. I sumbitted a return request to discover you have to ring them up like it's fucking 1990 or something.

To get a replacement, I have to send them this one, they inspect it, and send me a new one.

So, that's a minimum of 5 days' turnaround.

Fuck that, buying a replacement from a competitor. Who is Ebuyer's main competitor.

So, Suits! It's only on Channel 5 USA or whatever so I doubt anyone's seen it. I've been watching it at the gym.

Turns out it's surprisingly good? Interesting characters, a bit funny, Ally McBeal style soap opera stuff kept to a minumum, clever lawyering tactics.

Worth looking at. It's quite hard to tell from the pilot where they're going with it, but once it hits a routine it's lovely.

Amazing retrospective, really sells it http://www.lostinthemultiplex.com/extras/features/item/2915-retrospective-die-hard-with-a-vengeance.html

Didn't realise about the Lethal Weapon thing, you can really see that. Also BONUS a proper ending! An amazing ending!

(for future search: VHS horror movie)

Anyone see this? It's kiiiind of like a modern Tales from the Crypt - that 'loads of little stories' setup. Some are genuinely creepy. Never gets above a 7 in terms of scare-factor, but unsettling and well-made.

Well worth a look, but slightly ruined by an over-reliance on Frat Boy prick lead characters. Presumably everyone was *meant* to be hateful?

Two or three of the stories are great. The one in the forest with the glitchy man was ace.

Spacey-led Netflix funded series. It's up on Netflix, including UK, now. Looks pretty ace.

I notice American TV tends to do series of 12 these days, rather than 24. Has something changed, or have they just realised it's easier to commission less eps?

ABDUCTION. It's on Netflix, and it's only from 2011 which tends to tell you something about how well it sold.

HOWEVER, it's actually quite... good ish? It's deffo a teen movie, so as long as you're watching it on the understanding that it's basically for teenagers it's a pretty well done romp.

Bourne for teenagers, it is. That's the best description. Choc full of cliches (Black best friend! Teenage parties that bare no resemblance to a real teen party! A fight on a train! Ending with snipers, at a stadium!) but does them quite well.

Not a must-watch, but if you're feeling bored and generous and lazy it's worth putting on.

This is a surprisingly dark/ harrowing semi-horror thing on Netflix with Kyle Reese in it. It's actually quite good for a low budget sci-fi horror? Worth a look if you fancy something grizzly.

This is really good, but practically ruined by some stupid design decisions. Unfair deaths and a detailed visual style that means you can't always be sure what you can and can't grab on to really let it down.

It's also VERY left-to-right, with 90% of screens never being revisited. Would have benefitted from a bit more back-and-forth to make it more Flashback-y IMO.

But it's a stunning romp and worth a look.

So, I really like the look of this. It looks *very* BTDT, only pretty.

http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/12/19/start-the-week-randals-monday/

The dialogue's a bit slow, but when the trailer kicks off it looks like they're doing some really neat stuff with it.
