Pixel-Art BTDT Character T-shirts
« on: July 31, 2008, 09:13:44 am »
So we've had a request for a Gilbert pixel-art T-shirt, which I can see looking fairly ace. Also, The Human Aeroplane would be pretty sweet.

Any other characters from BTDT you'd buy on a T-shirt (assimung they look awesome and spangly, obv)

Ooh yeah, that's a good one. I'm really pleased with how that animation came out, considering it was all done in one go very very quickly.

How customizable are these shirts going to be? Can I, say, choose the color I want or is it like Henry Ford's famous quote?

Quote from: Ford
Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black.

(Not that it really matters, seeing as I'm getting a black one)

I actually really dislike black T-shirts, they have an overly-nerdy connotation. But I'll look into it.

Once I've got the design, it's not too much hassle to have an T-shirt you want, so long as it's in spreadshirt's range...

If black shirts are nerdy then every rocker out there must be a nerd :P Not that I mind, people probably consider me to be both

Spreadshirt's about the same as everywhere, but decent quality.

It depends on the markup. T-shirts will probably be about £25, which is about average for a custom Tshirt, I reckon...??

Not at all, it is for the sort of thing where you sell single shirts, but if you buy in bulk, you can get them significantly cheaper. Admittedly that means an initial investment, but the fact that you can sell them much cheaper should mean they shift quicker. I would never spend £25 on a t-shirt, no matter how fucking brillo it is (and the BTDT t-shirt ideas are great so far).

£25 quid is cheap to Dan.

He eats Salmon & Rocket for luncheon, and drinks nothing but champagne, don't you know!

He doesn't pay for the sicked up champagne. He's too rich to be paying for stuff, like a commoner would.

Hmm. I'm afraid if you're after a £3.99 T-shirt you're going to have to go to Primark, Simon.

The cheapest I've seen online for a decent quality, fitted (ie not just a shitty plain white T-shirt that your mum would print a 'funny' photo onto) is at Spreadshirt.

It's a thin line to tread, but I'd rather sell decent £25 T-shirts than shitty £15 ones that are shit.

I demand fine quality at low, low prices. It's not my fault that malaysian kids are so dab-handed with a sewing machine.
