I'm not sure if I want to send that message to Valve. They're pretty awesome generally, this is how they work, it's quite exciting and intriguing if a bit frustrating, and I don't really want to show my appreciation for all their hard work by whining at them.

I'm not, I've got other games to play and other things to do.

Hmmm, what game could we all play to send Valve a message that we don't want to send them that message?

I'm with Ben on this, generally.

Of course I want Valve to take as long as it takes to make an amazing HL3, but more importantly on this 'protest group' thing: I'd rather experience whatever amazing reveal they've had up their sleeves all this time than have someone forcing their hand.

Valve have shown they're amazing at big reveals - announcing Portal 2 by adding a new ending to Portal? Fucking hell, that was just unheard of and incredible.

I'd rather hear what's going on with HL3 on their timeline, and I'm worried that this Steam group is just going to wind up spoiling it a bit.

Hmm... I've had the same concern myself.

I probably wouldn't bother with it if it was just about a nebulous, unannounced 'next HL game', but the problem for me is that Valve set up some massive expectations with the 3-part episode series and then just stopped communicating with us. It's frustrating and, in my opinion, bad customer service. I am literally dying in anticipation.

I see the "Call for Communication" group as a way of saying "We are really getting desperately impatient, just so you know." I'm sure they do know already, but this only reinforces the message, no? They can just ignore it. It's nowhere near as bad as that stupid campaign to inundate Valve with real crowbars.

Pretty sure we're all literally dying while waiting for HL3, isn't that what he meant?

So, yesterday the people who do Steam Support tweeted something about keeping up-to-date with their feeds, and IGN tweeted "Wake up and smell the ashes" and a couple of days ago nVidia sent someone a crowbar, and the internet started saying it was HL3.

Which seems like quite a sloppy reveal, given the elegance of Portal 2's announcement... but here's hoping.

Sounds like they're using some Mafia style intimidation of ATI. Hardly seems fair that!

It's probably an announcement for Left 4 Dead 3.

Every vowell becomes the letter 4, regardless of how much it makes sense

So it goes back to L4D, confusingly.
