I would be astounded if there hadn't been any high-level meetings at Valve about producing a Steam-based Console. Whether it'll happen or not, I dunno, I kind of doubt it.

There are no high-levels at Valve.

I had a big long rambly post on this but it sort of failed to make sense, or even a point. So I'm putting this here instead.

COCKS.

A few of those quotes from gaben about them building hardware are taken mildly out of context, though, and it mostly seems to be speculative.

Valve have debunked all this. So yeah, turns out that surprise surprise when Gabe talked about maybe building hardware in the future to help with bio-feedback, he meant exactly that. Not that Valve were about to enter the console race.

No wonder Valve keep tight-lipped about Half-Life 3 when news sites are ready to extrapolate anything from nothing.

Ha ha, look at Dan's silly opinions about The Wire back in March 2012!

This is still massively vague, btw. Newell seems to say that Valve will basically release PCs with a guaranteed HDMI output socket and Steam pre-installed. But this sounds like a really strange, pointless (or at best meaninglessly broad) idea, and it's all just bits and pieces of quotes hammered together. Not convincing until Valve put together an official statement, especially as it's coming from Kotaku.

Excited by the idea of Steam branded PCs that are designed for a living room space. So, it's a PC with al lthe gfx card swapping antics that brings but pretty-looking enough to justify a place in the living room and Steam / Steam games can be navigated/ played with a gamepad? In silly resolution?

Fuck yes, I'd buy it.
