STICKY: Minor Bugs Thread
« on: June 24, 2013, 03:30:03 pm »
Here's a thread to report any minor, annoying, should-probably-fix bugs I need to know about.

If it's something major, it doesn't belong here. RED ALERT horror bugs, like crashes or problems with the networking not syncing correctly go in this thread here.

If it's an opinion it definitely doesn't belong here. "Bullets should move faster" or "Monkeys should jump higher" etc. Start a new thread or a poll asking other players for opinions, and I'll edit stuff based on that.

No tittle-tattle or banter in this thread please, it's for grown-up crises only.

Alpha testers: please don't use the Trello any more, let's do it all in here.

From my quick go on Friday:

Graphics setting was reverting to Good down from Excellent straight away. -fixed DM

When a monkey pulls that open-mouthed toothy face, one upper tooth glitches against the goggles. -fixed -DM

If there's a ladder right next to a vertical wall, it stops you from wall jumping up past it (may be a gameplay quirk not a bug). - this was requested behaviour from early on. it's easy enough to remove if the game has shfited enough to warrant it? -DM

(Local only?) Random theme didn't seem to work using the rematch button - had to go out to lobby and back in.

Can you give me more details on the last one? Was it generating *exactly* the same level structure, or were they all just Jungle themed levels?

It was mainly just theme though I got the exact layout repeated once.

Hm, that seems to be literally impossible.

Either that or it was staggeringly similar.

Small issue in the tutorial, more of a design thing.

When I reached the text box that starts with:

//Welcome to [tutorial01.exed]_
//Each team has a [power core]__

It was a bit of a pain to be able to read all the text. Either my monkey would be standing in front of the last couple lines blocking the view or, if I tried to move him to the side, the camera move over to the point where the side of the text box is cut off. - fixed DM

In the tutorial level:

When you walljump to the top of a door (either of the first two doors, at least), you can stick yourself there by holding either left or right (towards the door) - meh, this is fiiiine, DM ;)

If you wall jump up instead of use the ladder next to the "your monkey can fit through small spaces" text, you can't get to the top. - yes, this is by design. You can't wallgrab over a ladder, you need to climb - DM

I fell through a platform. It's the high platform in the room with the tutorial text for how many power cubes you can carry, and what happens when you reach zero; the room next to the first portal. I was able to do it multiple times by jumping all the way up in the right corner of the room, and spamming jump while holding up (but not every time). - hm, hopefully fixed, DM

Also, I was able to shoot into the first room with exploding crates and blow them up before entering. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that, but that's what I've come up with so far, I hope this is what you were looking for. - fixed, DM

(perhaps) Unreasonably long loading time for local match. It took me about 85 seconds to load the match, long enough that I started questioning if it was ever going to finish. Possibly because I'm using my crappy laptop at the moment.

HP G62 Notebook PC
Intel Core i3 CPU M370 @ 2.40 GHZ
4 GB Ram
Windows 8 Windows 7 (whoops)

Low graphics and lighting.

Oh crap, that's a typo. It's Windows 7. Installing on my desktop, I'll let you know what kind of load time I get there.

Bah, was hoping to blame everything squarely at Microsoft's feet. Digging around now...

Can you remember if there were big spinning saw blades on the map?
