Q: What is The Swindle?
The Swindle is a steampunk cybercrime caper about breaking into buildings, hacking their systems, stealing all their cash, and quickly running away again before the police show up.

All the buildings you’ll be robbing are randomly-generated, so you’ll never get the same level twice.

Meanwhile, from the safety of your rickety airship up in Outer Space, you can modify your thief with new skills, tools, and all manner of advanced technological horrors, allowing you to take on bigger buildings with better security, for gargantuan rewards!

Have you got what it takes to pull off The Swindle?

Q: Is it a Roguelike, or what?
It’s a bit like a Roguelike, but it’s more an RPG-alike. There are no random perks, no chance pickups. But there is permadeath and procedurally-generated levels.

All the cash you steal can be spent on upgrading your thieves with new tools and gadgets, to help you take on bigger and better heists.

Q: Oh man, I am so into this
Excellent! Thanks! We need all the help we can get to make it a success – please do help spread the trailer around and talk about the game on your Social Medias, all that stuff!

Q: What platforms will it come out on and how much will it cost?

You can buy it on Steam on the 28th of July and I will put the link here the very second I remember I have a website.

It will also be available on PS3, PS4, PSVita, XboxOne and WiiU.

Price is £11.99 and about $14.99 in American Money. Other money variants are available.

If you’re in The Media and would like to talk about The Swindle and why it’s brillo, please do email me: and I’ll gladly have a little chat. There’s a full Press Kit with the logo, screenshots, promo graphics and stuff here for you.

I know you Dan Marshall, you’re not this talented. Who helped make this wonderful, wonderful game?
You’re right. The art has been done by the amazing Michael Firman. He is exceptionally talented.
The music was Tobey Evans. Isn’t it brillo? He’s very clever.
Some of the complicated code was handled by Louise James, and Tom and Sophie of Clockwork Cuckoo have been working on some trendy UI elements for me.
